At Small Talk we engage even our Smallest Scholars in developmentally essential activities. We do all we can to maintain a consistent daily routine for our infants, including:
1. Basic Care Needs
Your infants health and wellbeing is our top priority. We perform diaper checks and changes hourly/as needed. Our infants are also fed every 2-3 hours or according to the feeding schedule requested by the parent.
2. Playtime
Our infants are supervised constantly through playtime and tummy time. During playtime we actively engage our Smallest Scholars in social play like peek-a-boo, hide-and-seek, and making funny faces. We also offer a wide array of soft, age-appropriate sensory toys to keep your babies intellectually stimulated, develop their gross motor skills, and improve hand-eye coordination.
3. Music and Reading
Singing, reading, and music exposure can never begin too early, and we keep it up constantly throughout each day (except Quiet Time). We especially love nursery rhymes and rhyming stories for the way they contribute to our babies’ language and cognitive development. Outside of our designated music time, we also like to keep a variety of quiet, mellow background music playing to soothe our little ones and enhance their auditory senses.
4. Sensory Activities
At Small Talk, we host a wide range of infant-safe, sensory activities, introducing your LO to various textures and games that blossom their problem-solving skills and creativity.
5. Outside Time
Any day the sun is shining you’ll find us soaking it in (through our sunscreen of course) and enjoying the fresh air and change of scenery. Our patio has been covered by faux grass to allow the Littles who have found their feet a fun, safe place to explore.
6. Meal Plan
While we encourage parents to prepare a nutritious lunch and snack their kiddos will love, we understand that sometimes things happen. In any case, no child goes hungry here. For just $3 per meal we will prepare a nutritious lunch and snack for your little one in accordance to their dietary needs or restrictions (if any) any time you need! Parents also have the option of ordering lunch to be sent for their child via any delivery service such as DoorDash, UberEats or Grubhub. (If you choose to go with the delivery option, we ask that parents do their best to have food arrive before lunchtime (12pm).

Early childhood education is a critical component for your child’s development and Small Talk Family Childcare can play an important role in your little one reaching their cognitive, social and educational milestones.
